Special Talent and Trustee Scholarship Competition Instruction

SPECIAL TALENT SCHOLARSHIP

For Special Talent Scholarship, please note that you must have your portfolio evaluated by at least two faculty members from your area of concentration (see Art Faculty directory page). You must be a full-time undergraduate B.F.A. student with a 2.50 G.PA and a full-time graduate M.F.A. student with a 3.0 G.P.A.  Using a ranking system from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent), your ranking will be defined by the mean score of the two faculty evaluators.

  1. Please schedule an appointment to see each faculty members during his/her office hours or contact them by email (see Art Faculty directory page). You must give each evaluating faculty member a completed application form and a well organized portfolio of your creative works (submission may be actual artwork, video, CD, DVD, or projects and papers where required) Please refer to the scholarship instruction sheet.
  2. After your presentation, each evaluating faculty member will do a careful evaluation of your portfolio, project or paper.
  3. When each evaluating faculty member has completed an evaluation and recommendation form, he/she will place the evaluation and recommendation form, accompanied by a completed copy of your scholarship application form, and resume in a sealed envelope. The evaluating faculty member will deliver the envelope to the Department of Art office by 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

 

TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP

For Trustee Scholarship, please note that full-time undergraduate BA students with a 3.2 GPA must have your research paper(s) or project(s) evaluated by at least two faculty members from your area of concentration. Full-time undergraduate B.F.A. and full-time graduate and M.F.A. students with a 3.2 G.P.A. must have portfolios and projects evaluated by at least two faculty members from your area of concentration (see Art Faculty directory page). Using a ranking system from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent), your ranking will be defined by the mean score of the two evaluators.

  2. Undergraduate students (full time) must provide each evaluating faculty member with projects or research papers. Please refer to the Trustee Scholarship instruction sheet.
  3. MFA graduate students (full time) must provide evaluating faculty members with projects and research papers. Please refer to the Trustee Scholarship instruction sheet.
