Midterm Group Critique
for
MFA and select BFA students

Friday October 18, between 11:30AM and 5:00PM.

Fine Arts Atelier (Sculpture Studio/Graduate Painting)
2467 Sherman Ave., NW, Washington, DC

Potluck and light refreshments served.

The resident faculty and students of the Fine Arts Atelier invite the University community to an open house for their Midterm Group Critique for MFA and select BFA students.  Students will give rolling presentations of their work in front of faculty, renowned artists, and practicing art professionals.

For those who have not yet experienced this, we have combined efforts for students to present their semester’s work to faculty, area artists and HU community in a lively discourse on their art.  We started this tradition a couple of years ago and it has become an exciting part of our program.  You never know who may show up as a guest critic – Sam Gilliam, Renee Stout, Zoe Charlton, Mariah Josephy, Zac Oxman, and Tuliza Fleming to name a few.

We’ve had such wonderful responses that we do intend to make this a more formalized part of the curriculum.  The conversation is always energizing and informative, making this an invaluable opportunity for our students.  If you have any students with work that can be brought to the atelier, please send them to us.  Hopefully, we will schedule the end-of-semester’s critique earlier so we can better organize a broader group participation with our other studio programs and faculty.

Parking is available on the street of in one of the two surrounding lots. If you have any questions, please drop me a reply or call (301) 237- 4094.
