Painting (MFA Student)
Adrienne Gaither is a visual artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. She has received her BFA at Howard University in Washington, DC and is a MFA Candidate at Howard University. She is currently working with themes related to socio-political structures. With her experience in graphic design and marketing, Adrienne began to recognize connections between product placement and her neighborhood. This experience has influenced Adrienne to mix her environment into her body of work, by collecting discarded materials. With these discarded materials, she reconstructs their identity to create undiscovered patterns. Adrienne’s interests in identity, history, and culture continue to inspire her artwork. Adrienne’s goal is to create an open dialogue that questions the confines and uses of culture.
